In the event that there is a brief wait to get started with one of our intensively trained DBT team members in comprehensive DBT, you may be eligible to get a jumpstart inskills group while under the care of your current providers while you wait.
How does it work?
- Start today by completing a DBT program application.
- We’ll talk with you during your screening call about how DBT meets your treatment goals. In the event that our program is currently full, we’ll discuss whether Pre-DBT STAT might be a good fit for you.
- You must have a current provider (therapist or prescribing provider) who is able to support you while you get started in skills group –we’ll ask them to confirm that they’re supporting you (including sharing a copy of your current crisis skills plan).
- When a DBT therapist becomes available, our intake coordinator will reach out to connect you so you can get started with Pre-DBT individual sessions. At this time, you would pause or terminate treatment with your primary outside provider (if they are a psychotherapist) for the duration of your time in comprehensive DBT. You should plan to continue your work with any psychiatrist/prescribing provider for ongoing medication management during your time in DBT.
