Emotion and Social Effectiveness Program (EASE)

EASE is a 12-week skills training group that teaches select Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills in a condensed and accelerated format.

EASE group can help you:

  • Develop new mindfulness tools to stay grounded in a busy world.
  • Build strategies for balancing validation and self-respect in relationships.
  • Learn how your emotions work for you and what to do when they’re working against you.
  • Practice science-based strategies to calm your body when you are overwhelmed.
  • Change behavior patterns that no longer serve you and build healthier new ones.

EASE is designed to support individuals who can benefit from a DBT skills group but who do not require the full support of comprehensive DBT.

Which program is right for me, comprehensive DBT or EASE?

In contrast to Wake Kendall’s DBT Program, EASE includes solely a didactic skills component and covers a condensed overview of DBT skills. Individuals with current life-threatening behaviors or who are seeking more intensive and comprehensive skills training in adherence to Linehan’s DBT model are encouraged to apply to WakeKendall’s comprehensive DBT program
