Lisa Isenman takes a collaborative, proactive, and strengths-based approach to help clients both identify goals and create an individualized plan to achieve them. She specializes in working with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relational and transitional issues.  Ms. Isenman has a strong background in evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and the Gottman Method for couples therapy, and integrates insight-oriented approaches into her work.  She has lived and worked around the world and has decades of experience working with older adolescents and their families from a range of cultures.  Ms. Isenman received an MA in Counseling from Northwestern University, an MA from Columbia University, and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis. Following her commitment to multicultural counseling and advocacy, she serves as an executive officer and communications chair for the International Association for Counselling.

Ms. Isenman is licensed to practice in DC and MD.
