Dr. Alexandra Cargo has more than 25 years of experience as an evaluator at the Wake Kendall Group. She assesses a broad age range, from children through older adults, and uses a variety of instruments specific to the issues of the individual, in a warm, collaborative environment. The emphasis is on identifying strengths and factors that may be impeding progress, as well as providing recommendations, resources, and a plan for next steps. Dr. Cargo also administers admissions tests for independent schools. She has expertise in learning disabilities, ADHD, executive functioning and a range of emotional, behavioral, and social issues. Prior to joining the Wake Kendall Group, Dr. Cargo taught in the public schools and then worked at The Kingsbury Center for many years as an educational diagnostician, school consultant, and tutor before receiving her clinical training. Dr. Cargo received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from American University, her M.Ed. in Special Education-Learning Disabilities from the U. of MD, and her B.A. in Psychology from Smith College.
